Gcc Lighting is a independent architectural lighting design consultancy based in London/los angeles and Oman (Muscat) We work both within the UK and internationally. We have an established reputation working across a broad range of exciting projects of all sizes.

Outside of our existing range of products, the discipline at which we excel, is the bespoke manufacture of custom lighting and lighting control systems, which is where we can add significant value to our clients throughout the design, consultancy and integration process.

Education

Knowledge of physics, optics, electricity, ergonomics, business, codes, environmental issues, construction, vision and the art of design are all essential to creating great lighting solutions. Lighting professionals must be well grounded and continually educate themselves to provide the best possible service. They do so in many ways including networking, reading trade magazines and journals, attending and presenting seminars. This sort of give and take, along with healthy competition, forwards the profession as a whole.

Technique

GCC Lighting is the ephemeral partner of architecture. Light is invisible until it strikes an object or surface. And it is controlling this difficult, transitory medium that gives the lighting “artist” the ability to create hierarchies, dynamics and mood. Lighting design has become a creative extension of architectural design, improving visibility and complementing form, program and colour. Experience and, of course, talent create patterns of illumination that seamlessly support overall project goals.

Safety and Security

Lighting energy use is often increased (especially in exterior applications) as a response to safety and security requirements. A lighting design that minimizes glare, reduces shadowing, and provides appropriate contrast addresses safety and security far better than a simple increase in wattage and light output.Building owners, developers, and municipalities increasingly place more emphasis on security lighting. Designers have not only the responsibility to provide adequate, low glare lighting but also avoid over lighting. This responsibility also extends to working with the rest of the design team to coordinate all aspects of security design.

We will continue to strive for excellence through innovation, and by drawing on the technical knowledge gained from our wide varied experience with LED applications and lighting design projects.

We have done lots of 3 colour LED systems and single colour/dimming, so we can now use this experience in white mood lighting (WW/MW/CW) and 4 colour (RGBA/RGBW).
